Origins

The Origins of the Empire are the Hessian-German Principality of Tagtmeier, the Scottish Principality of McClean, Frisian-German the Grand Duchy of Ioaacks, the Irish McLaughlin Clan, and the Norman-French Aubuchon Family. The first Prince of Tagtmeier was Konrad I, who immigrated from Antendorf, Hesse around 1870. The first Prince of McClean was Archibald I, who immigrated from Mull, Scotland around 1700. The first Grand Duke of Ioaacks was Marx I, who was born a descendent of Ties Jaax of the 17th century, later lived in Schleswig-Holstein from where he immigrated to America in 1873. The first McLaughlin in America was Henry McLaughlin and his wife Mary O' Donough who immigrated from Ireland some time in the late 1800s. The first Aubuchon(ancestor of the Imperial Family) in America was Jean dit L'Esperance Aubuchon who immigrated to New France or Canada from Normandy, France in either the late 1730s or early 1740s. These families came to intermarry paving the way for the Empire.

First Tagtmeier Civil War

The Modern History of the Empire begins with Stefen and Ioudith of the House of McClean-Tagtmeier. Grand Prince U'illiam II had abdicated in the early 1980's and his elder son U'illiam III had become Grand Prince. Stefen contested U'illiam III's rule and started a dynastic war. Stefen won the dynastic dispute with his elder brother U'illiam III. The Tagtmeier dynastic war ended when Stefen secured an alliance with the McCleans by marrying Lady Ioudith. U'illiam III was exiled and Stefen became Grand Prince of Tagtmeier. Stefen and Ioudith were ambitious and sought to expand their lands.

Duchy of Glenwood

To this end Stefen invaded the Duchy of Glenwood and declared himself Duke of Glenwood. For many years the Tagtmeiers dwelt in their Glenwood palace but Ioudith yearned for a larger palace. Stefen began negotiations with Braden Hill to acquire a new land for a palace. The negotiations went sour when Stefen refused to pay the amount asked. Stefen sent his sons Archduke I'ohn, and Archduke Xristofer to invade Braden Hill. After months of war the Lord of Braden Hill surrendered and fled into exile.

Kingdom of Holcetaea

Stefen now declared all his territories the Kingdom of Holcetaea. He deferred the Duchy of Glenwood on his second son Archduke Xristofer, while his eldest son Archduke I'ohn was Crown Prince. Within a year the Duchy of Glenwood was invaded. I'ohn rushed to his brothers aid but Stefen held back. Stefen negotiated with the invaders and sold the Duchy to I'ohn and Xristofers' anger.

Second Civil War

I'ohn left Holcetaea and aqcuired the County of Pine Ridge. Xristofer left a short time later and headed west across the Great River(Mississippi River). He conquered some land and was declared Prince of Western Holcetaea by his nobles. I'ohn sold off his county and headed west to help his brother. After a month the combined armies of I'ohn and Xristofer were able to defeat all local lords. Xristofer was crowned King. Their Armies than headed east and fought Stefen's army with the idea of deposing Stefen in I'ohn's favor. They defeated his armies and sieged Tagtmeier Palace. Even after they were able to enter the Palace Stefen refused to surrender which meant abdication.

Empire of Holcetaea

Ioudith surrendered with no abdication and Princess Elen negotiated between Stefen and I'ohn. Stefen was allowed to keep his throne but I'ohn was declared his sovereign Emperor. The new 'Empire of Holcetaea' was declared on Sept. 23, 2007 and it included Western Holcetaea, Eastern Holcetaea, and three principalities. Another principality was created in 2008 along with a new duchy.
